PE at Chester-le-Street CE Primary School

At Chester-le-Street CE Primary School, we understand and appreciate the significance of PE in fostering lifelong healthy lifestyles. Our aim is to offer every child high-quality PE and sports provision that is both challenging and enjoyable. We recognise the critical role sport plays in the physical and emotional development of children and strive to cultivate the skills and attitudes needed for participation in both team and individual activities. Through opportunities to compete, children build character and internalise values like fairness and respect. We aim to inspire all students to stay active and discover the joy of sport.

School Games Gold Award 24/25

We are delighted to announce that we, Chester-le-Street CE Primary School, have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year.

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

With a total of young people competing in local inter-school competitions this year, we are extremely proud of our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport, including those young volunteers, leaders and officials who made our competitions possible.
